Angiogenesis is a process of development for the formation of new blood vessels, from pre-existing vascular tissue, It is regarded as a sign of identity of cancer and plays a key role in the development of tumor, in its capacity invasive and in the development of metastasis. In this sense, our group has focused in recent years its research effort in the identification and characterization of new compound inhibitors of the activity angiogenic.
Our experience in this area has allowed us to establish a sound methodological basis for the study of modulators activity of angiogenic compounds and its close relationship with the tumor progression. The collaboration with various pharmaceutical companies for the search and characterization of antitumor drugs has allowed us to in addition, the generation of various national and international patent.
